Vantiq Secrets
Secrets in Vantiq are storage containers for sensitive information.
To create a secret, go to the NAV bar and choose Administer Advanced Secrets.
Choose the + at the top of the Secrets pane and in the new secret pane, supply a name, optional description, and the value you want there.
Once stored, the value will never be visible again.
Alternatively, when adding a large language model or source to the project, there are drop down options to select an existing model for use or to create one.
From there, using secrets anywhere within the same project is easy.
Tools that routinely use secrets invariably provide drop down choices for developers to select or create the desired secret.
Within VAIL Code, secrets are referenced as @Secrets and the name of the secret in parentheses, thus referencing the secret without revealing its value.
Finally, bear in mind that secrets are never exported to other projects.
This is an important security feature.
